UKVI IELTS and Life Skills Test Delay and Cancellation Policy

  • If you cancel your IELTS test registration more than 14 days before the test you will receive a 75% refund of the total test fee.
  • If you cancel your IELTS test registration within 14 days but more than two days before the test you will receive a 50% refund of the total test fee.
  • If you cancel your IELTS test registration within two days of the test you will receive a 25% refund of the total test fee.
  • If you cancel your IELTS test registration on the test day or after the test no refund will be provided.

Regardless of the exam registration deadline, if candidates cancel the tests on the day the registration is made, the candidates can get full refunds. It is possible to request the cancellation before the midnight of the exam registration date. If candidates request the cancellation after British Council Korea business hour (9:00 – 17:00, Mon - Fri), you should send the email regarding your inquiries at exams@britishcouncil.or.kr. by 23:59:59pm on the day.

Test Delay

  • -You are not allowed to sit the test without your passport. No delay or refund will be offered.

    e.g) Loss of passport, Submission for visa application, Issue a new passport

    -You can select your new test date within Exam Schedule registered on the website form your original test date.

Special Consideration

  • -If you are unable to attend on test day because of illness, injury, or an exceptional event outside your control, you can request a test day postponement or cancellation. (Note: Admin fee will be charged.)

    -Write to within two days from the test date with appropriate evidence and proof.

    -Other personal reasons will not be considered.

    Special consideration includes instances such as:

    -A traumatic experience

    -Domestic crisis

    -Unavoidable legal or Military obligation

    -Serious medical conditions which prevent you from attending or performing normally on test day

    - Bereavement or other forms of significant hardship

    -Civil unrest or Extreme weather
